Before beginning his graduate studies at SMTD in Fall 2018, Sean taught middle and high school choral music for nine years in North Carolina. Sean holds a BM in Music Education and a BM in Vocal Performance from Michigan State University. In the Fall of 2020, Sean will begin his PhD studies in Music Education at the University of Michigan. Sean’s teaching and research interests include examining music education’s intersections with issues of equity and race, the musical and emotional needs of adolescent males in choir, and the creation of safe and empowering music learning spaces rooted in social justice.
